Tobarras Jungle Ride: One hour north of Chacala is the Tobarra adventure. Enter the mangroves by boat, look at all the wild life from birds to snakes to crocodiles. It is about a two hour ride. There is a restaurant and a swimming area. Beware of the crocodiles!Fishing: Sport fishing can be found in the “blue water” (ocean shelf) off Chacala. Fish for dorado ( mahimahi ) while watching the whales, turtles and dolphins playing. Guides: We have locals available to guide the visitor to their lodging, take a tour of Chacala, make reservations, act as an interpreter, act as a travel guide and more. Our guides are often our young high school scholars who would like to help and practice their English at the same time.

Whale Watching: The humpback whale comes to the peaceful waters of Chacala to give birth to its young from December to March. Hiking: Hikes to sister bays either north or south of Chacala via the extinct volcano or through the jungle. Birding: Susana has a list of over 170 species of birds that have been cited by avid birders. Join North Americans and local Chacala residents for early morning and late afternoon walks.
